Replacing X stepper motor cable and X axis limit switch cable

For replacing the X stepper motor cable and X axis limit switch cable several steps are required; these are described here.

Important: Make sure the MBot Grid II+ is turned off and power supply disconnected before you start the replacement.

Compatibility: MBot Cube I,II and MBot Grid II,II+

Necessary Parts:

  1. X stepper motor cable (available on MBot3d online store)
  2. limit switch cable (available on MBot3d online store)

 

Necessary Tool: Hexagon screwdriver

1. Unplug cable jacks

Unplug cable jack of X stepper motor and X axis limit Switch.

2. Taking off cable

Unscrew the screws and took off cable holder show as in picture.

3. Opening bottom part of 3D printer

Unscrew these screws show as on picture and turn printer facing bottom toward you and took off the bottom cover. Unplug the X stepper motor cable and the X limit switch.

4. Changing cable

Unwrap the cable wrapper. Separate the X stepper motor cable and the X limit switch. Wrap the New X stepper motor cable and the new X limit switch cable. Plug the X stepper cable and X limit switch on stepper motor and limit switch respectively. Screw three cable holders one on top and two on the side as shown in the picture.

5.Checking cable

Pull the printer head end of the front side to check the cable is not tight and it is flexible to move. Try to pull and push front and back to check the cable is flexible to move. Shown as picture

6. Jacks on motherboard

Insert the cable next to LCD display panel to bottom side. Turn the print facing towards you and pull the cable. Plug the X stepper motor cable into the X stepper motor jack. Plug the X limit switch into X limit switch X-Max Jack.
